Project Description

Jason Beaupre is on the Land Stewardship Committee for the Mohonk Preserve, Chair of the Anchor Evaluation Committee, a Board Member for the Gunks Climber’s Coalition, and has been an activist for the Access Fund since 2006.

Jason is a photographer, artist and alpinist. An athlete in constant training for the next adventure or event he lives his passions and work seamlessly. Blessed with two endearing sons he wishes to instill a sense of fervor and love for the things they do. An eternal optimist he tries to seize and make the most of everyday. Coming to climbing after racing on the national downhill mountain bike circuit he has climbed and guided internationally in Western Europe, Nepal, Peru, and the Canadian Rockies for over fourteen years. Having a huge adulation for adventure travel climbing he has also climbed and guided all over the United States, with Nevada’s Red Rocks being one of his favorite destinations. Always seeking long demanding alpine pursuits he enjoys both rock and ice climbing equally, hiking, camping, biking of any kind, and especially long distance trail running. Having been mentored by some of the best climbers in the world (Scott Backes and Mark Synnott) Jason holds certifications for AMGA SPI and a NY State license to guide Rock, Ice, and Hiking. Teaching gives him great gratification and he has taught everything from climbing to adventure racing to art classes for kids. Jason is an active rescue volunteer for the Hudson Valley Mountain Rescue Squad, and has both Wilderness First Aid and Healthcare Provider CPR training. He currently lives adjacent to the Mohonk Preserve’s “Gunks” with his sons and spends epic days in the mountains almost everyday.
