June 4 – Antlion Trail Work Weekend With Access Fund Conservation Team
National Trails Day Trail Projects with Access Fund’s Conservation Team
Saturday, June 4, is National Trails Day! This weekend is your chance to do trail work at the Antlion Cliff with Access Fund’s super-cool Conservation Team . . . climbers who know a lot about the earth and how to build sustainable trails.
On Saturday June 4 and Sunday June 5, the GCC and our stalwart volunteers will join Access Fund’s Conservation Team at the Antlion Cliff, where volunteers like you are creating a beautiful trail to a soon-to-open Gunks crag. Soaring rock filled with roofs, cracks, arêtes, and views of the distant Hudson River fjord . . . volunteer days out with us are part work, and part climbing! Head over to this Doodle poll to volunteer with us on June 4 or 5 . . . or both! Sign up soon! We have limited slots – only 20 volunteers per day. Make sure to include your email address so we can send you location beta for the day out.
You’ll get expert trail work guidance from the Access Fund Conservation Team—they’re traveling the United States to work with local climbing organizations like us! Established in 2011, Access Fund’s innovative Conservation Team program brings professional trail-building and conservation expertise to climbing communities across the nation. Thank you, Access Fund! Your support for the GCC and Gunks climbers does climbing advocacy proud.

National Trails Day is sponsored by the American Hiking Society and celebrates the committed groups who make the trails you love happen. It encourages people to go outside, volunteer with clean-up on your local trail, or make a donation to support trails and open space.
