GCC Summer 2021 Raffle

GCC Summer Raffle Raises Over $10K!

The Gunks Climber’s Coalition is grateful to our many sponsors for making the 2021 GCC Summer Raffle a huge success beyond our wildest dreams! We raised $10,217 and had 275 people enter the raffle! This is far beyond any returns we’ve ever seen in an in-person raffle, where you’re limited to whomever is attending. Because it was virtual, people from all over the country entered and prizes could be picked up locally or shipped at the winner’s cost.

Our amazing sponsors contributed close to $7000 in prizes, with over 40 items — everything from a day of guided climbing, to 2 night accommodations, climbing gear, camping gear, local business gift certificates, guidebooks, whisky and more! Special thanks to REI, Patagonia, Rock and Snow, Alpine Endeavors, Big City Mountain Guides, EMS, Gravity Vault, The Cliffs, BC’s Climbing Gym, GunksApps, Minnewaska Lodge, Petzl, La Sportiva, Neilico, Gregory, Hudson Whiskey, Ridge Tea & Spice Shop, Mountain Brauhaus Restaurant, Chris Vultaggio and Jonathan Siegrist, and Chris Duca. Please show your appreciation by giving our sponsors your business. Special thanks goes to our long time supporters at Rock and Snow, who were gracious enough to offer to distribute prizes to the winners at their store.

Proceeds will be put towards GCC initiatives like the acquisition and maintenance of the Antlion crag. We’ve set a goal of raising $109K for the Millbrook Mountain Conservation Initiative by this November, and need your help to reach our goal. Whether you give $5, $50 or $500, your support is crucial to the GCC’s purchase of this remote and special place. See our GoFundMe campaign to learn more about the Antlion cliff acquisition and make a donation.

So will we do this again? It certainly is a great way to fundraise, even though it’s more work than pulling tickets out of a hat. If you represent a business, whether you’re a business owner, a sales rep for a gear company, or a local business who would love to see the climbing community walk through your doors, please contact the GCC so we can talk about sponsorships for future fundraisers.
