Potential Temporary Closures for Controlled Burns

September 9, 2011: The Shawangunk Ridge Biodiversity Partnership may have opportunities to conduct one or more controlled burns at Mohonk Preserve next week.

The most likely area for burning would be the northern portion of the Trapps Cliffs area above Overcliff Road. Due to the shallow soils and high exposure of this area, they expect rapid drying and it is possible they could try to burn as early as Tuesday, September 13, 2011.

The GCC will post any news of temporary closures during the week for these controlled burns.
