The Gunks Climbers’ Coalition has some regularly scheduled events. Additional events in the Gunks that we may or may not be participating in will also be listed here.
GCC Meetings are held monthly, usually at the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center. It is primarily for the Board of Directors but members are welcome to attend if they would like to get more involved. If you’re new, just send us a message and let us know you’re coming.
The GCC BBQ Party is held in the Spring. All with current dual memberships to the GCC and Access Fund may attend with no admission fee and all food and drink served at the party is complementary. These events will include a status update from the GCC, and possibly presentations, slide shows, entertainment, raffles or silent auctions.
The Gunks Climbing Film Festival occurs every October and includes the Friday night Climbers’ Reception at the Mohonk Preserve, the Film Fest Saturday evening which includes contests, raffles and films, and additional events all weekend, like breakfasts and free climber clinics.
Adopt-A-Crag Day is held once a year (occasionally twice) to provide an opportunity for the climbing community to enhance or maintain the climbing environment. Giving back to the land we use for climbing promotes good relations with the landowners who allow us to use their land for climbing.
