The Gunks Climber’s Coalition is pleased to announce the generous support of Redefining Balance!
Redefining Balance puts on retreats combining yoga, slacklining, rock climbing, surfing and other outdoor adventures in a variety of locations around the world now including New Paltz. As part of their environmental conservation initiatives, Redefining Balance donates 5% of their proceeds from each retreat to a non-profit organization working to preserve the outdoor areas used for climbing / slacklining / surfing during any particular retreat. Having just hosted their first New Paltz retreat this past August, Redefining Balance is excited to donate 5% of the proceeds to the Gunks Climber’s Coalition to support their efforts to protect the safety and environmental integrity of the local climbing areas in New Paltz.
Adi Carter, founder of Redefining Balance, says “I really appreciate all the efforts of the Gunks Climbers Coalition to keep the local climbing areas up to date with replacement bolts and anchors on popular climbs and rappel routes. Knowing that they are keeping an eye out is a great reassurance for climbers of all levels seeking to enjoy these amazing cliffs. And it’s also great to see a local initiative focused on educating the community about safety and preservation of all levels. Keep up the good work guys!”
Redefining Balance has some great climbing focused retreats coming up this year in Moab and Puerto Rico (yes you can totally climb in PR…and it’s awesome and then you can go surfing on your rest days) co-taught with Adi Carter and professional climber and North Face Athlete, Heidi Wirtz.
